Did you know that the top of Chimborazo is the closest point to the sun?
This happens because of the Earth when is flattened at the poles and widened in the Equatorial line, the radius at this point is longer, so that’s why Ecuador has altitude advantage. In this, the nearest point to the sun, we can enjoy a very simple approach by car to the refuge on the road to or from Riobamba Guaranda route to San Juan.
Actually , when you get to the summit , I won’t deny that at first you’re going to believe that you are dreaming so you won’t want anyone to wake you up! When you’re on top you’ll see with your own eyes “the clouds carpet” and in the distance a spectacular avenue of ecuadorian volcanoes. You won’t regret of this dream come true!
How do we get there?
The park is located 60 km from the city of Quito , you have to go through the South Panamerican Highway to the entrance to the site called «El Caspi «; the same route to visit the cities of Latacunga (30 km ) and Ambato (70 km).
